Sometimes I have a very short sharp pain, feels like in the wound area, and then it kinda moves to my bellybutton area and disappears. I had no problem with the bowel movement ever since after the incision, but, today I could feel some irritating pain. It was not very painful, but feels like if there was a small lump, may be pus is coming back? The wound is not deep, I think it's just skin that is still open, no gauze inside the wound anymore, but whenever I change the dressing I find quite a bit of liquid that looks like pus, but my doc said it's just a wound fluid and as long as there's no pain it means there's no infection. The wound doesn't really seem to be closing, sigh. I hope I'm not going to have a bigger operation, coz I'm in China, got no insurance, and have wife with 2 weeks old newborn, so there's no way to stay at the hospital. Wish a very good luck and strong health to everybody as well as myself... Wish noone has pain even in the ass. Mines happened 11/8/09 or rather thats when I went to the hospital. Im a 30 yr old gym rat. Deadlift and squat pretty heavy so at first i thought it was a hemmeroid. I've had them before. Then it just got to be downright painful. I tried all the normal hemmy treatments. Fiber uptake, rest, etc. Sitz baths..you name it. Taking a dump was horrible. I had to trick my body by using Suppositories. The symptoms would subside. Afterwhile none of it worked except the sitz bath. The pain was so unbearable that I couldnt even sleep. I couldnt lay in any manner without being in EXCRUCIATING PAIN. Couldnt walk, drive, stand for more than 2 minutes. My buddy who had hemmy surgery told me try extra strength Aleve. I had been taking Percs and that wasnt even doing it for me. I was poppin Aleves like it wasnt nothing. 4 every 2 hrs. It would get me to sleep but woul wear off in the middle of the nigh. AAAAAAAAAA!!!!! They stopped workin. I was scared to go to the hosp. as everyone online mentioned hemmy surgery was painful. After praying to Lord for healing I decided I couldnt take anymore. Afraid to eat because the bowel movements were murder !!!!! Hungry as heck. Tried to get up with the help of my girlfriend but pain was so unbearable that I literally laid down on my stomach and just cried. Pain so intense I blacked out. Came through 30 min later. Aleve briefly working so I hurried up to take a dump. I instantly felt relief. Relief enough that I could walk to the car. In the car I was amazed at how much better I was feeling. Was noticing a horrible smell but not sure what it was. Went to ER and still could smell it. Waiting on the ER nurse I quickly dipped into the bathroom and found that the sucker had burst probably from the bowel movement. The pressure relief was soooooo good !!!!!! I kept trying to wipe it up but it was amazing how much was leaking every where. Thought I had gotten it all. Stripped down to the land of butnakedness...And yes when you are in this much PAIN you dont care who sees you but ass naked . The ER doc came in ..pulled my cheeks apart and Gasped as she wasnt even ready for it. My girl said the ER doc had a shocked look on her face. When she noticed my girlfriend there..she tried to play it off. They gave me an IV because fluids were low. (the pain is so much you lose your appetite). Gave me a CAT scan for $1700.00 to see how far the infection had spread. Thank GOD...it didnt spread ..just in the butt region. The told me they were going to cut and drain it and gave me pain meds. THAT ISHT DIDNT WORK..AND THE REAL PAIN WAS GETTING READY TO BEGIN. They stuck a needle in the area to numb it. I felt the whole thing !!! Then she pressed her finger all throughout my poor little butt crack to force as much pus out as possible. I screamed like HAN SOLO on Empire Strikes Back when Darth Vader was torturing him !!!!. Then she had to pack it ...They literally had to hold my cheeks apart because I wasnt going down with out a FIGHT !!!! 1 person to pack it..the other person to hold me down on the bed with my arse in the air and cheeks pulled apart. I have never felt any pain like her packing that wound. The gave me some meds and sent me home ..ass felt instantly better. Told to return in two days to have packing removed..was scared but afraid something worse would happened if I didnt get it taken out. Stung a little but it was cool.... Told me to take meds for 10 days to clear it up and to let the surgical cut stay open to help drain any infection that may have still been inside. also told to take sitz bath 20 mins a day to keep the wound open as long as possible so it can heal from the inside. Its 12/12/09 a full month plus and the hole is still there. It was draining pus 1.5 weeks ago but nothing now. I will look at the surgical hole with a mirror and see a dark mark/line right under the skin. I have a sneaking suspicion this WHOLE ordeal may have been brought on my an ingrown butt hair. SIGH!! It is showin all the classic syptoms of an ingrown hair. Stubborn to heal ..not leaking pus or blood but still a sharp pain from time to time. Usually ingrown hairs will do that as they are growing under the skin and pushing through the flesh. Will give it another week or so. The hole will close up and then after a warm shower open back up. I'm a GOD believer so I believe in prayer and what the word of God says. He does not give a spirit of fear in anything. The word also says that which I fear will come upon me. So remember that if you are facing this. If your think you may have one. Syptoms include chills, fever , night sweats, loss of appetite go to the doc IMMEDIATELY. My husband just had his 3rd GA surgery performed on Sunday, this year!!! His Perianal abscess- luckily- had no communication, however no one can with surety explain the reson for recurrence. We have decided that after western medicine had failed on any follow up treatment, to try tackle the issue with a holistic approach. So we tackle the bowel flora using lactobascillus acidophilous, we tackle the immune system with echinacea, vit c zinc and vit e, we tackle the bacteria using the natural antibiotic wild oregano oil. Not the commercially available oregano, oregano vulgarus is the herb in use. So far, nothing to report however this seems to be the only form of follow up treatment that makes sense. Will report on progress though. Guys I feel for all of you.

See my other postings. DIET is the key for such diseases. I know the pain, I do not want to get this again as my surgeon has instructed me to follow the DIET life long to avoid this coming back again. I was a freeky guy, now I am total vegetarian and stopped every other food, initially I thought my life with only vegetarian food will be of waste. Now I have realized that this is the best food. Definitely I do not want to get this pain again so I want to continue my diet. I stopped partying. I had my surgery in February and it took me about two months to heal completely. I have become perfect now, no more issues. Don't you think this is good news for you as I was scared after seeing scary posts in the internet. Do not think too much, just listen carefully to your surgeon's advise after the surgery. Surgery is not dangerous as long as you do your diet life long after the surgery and after the healing. See my other postings. DIET is the key for such diseases. I know the pain, I do not want to get this again as my surgeon has instructed me to follow the DIET life long to avoid this coming back again. Definitely I do not want to get this pain again so I want to continue my diet. I stopped partying.

I had my surgery in February and it took me about two months to heal completely. I have become perfect now, no more issues. Don’t you think this is good news for you as I was scared after seeing scary posts in the internet. Do not think too much, just listen carefully to your surgeon’s advise after the surgery.

So here's my experience and questions. About a week ago I had a nagging pain around the anus, which I presumed to be a minor internal hemorrhoid, having suffered from one before. I thought nothing of it for the most part and assumed the pain would go away. 3 days later the pain was to much to deal with, I would wake up every 3 hours, sweating and with the chills. I couldn't move, sit or do anything for that matter. I had studied the causes of such anal problems and so on to the internet i went searching for EVERY possible cause to these problems, at first because i thought it was a hemorrhoid is treated the lump around the anal wall with witch hazel and other medication. I did sitz baths which seem to relieve the most pain. After the 5th day I couldn't bare with it much longer and decided that i had to go to the ER. It's was quite embarassing as I live in a predomint college town, the young nurse told me to have a seat, which i kindly replied, i'd rather just stand if thats okay. So began me telling where the pain was originating from and the symptoms I had. After waiting about 10 minutes in a room they assigned me to I the ER doctor came in to take a look at the problem. His first assumption was a perianal abscess and therefore told me that a surgeon was going to have to take a look at the problem. The surgeon came in looked at in and bingo off to surgery under local anesthia. The pain was unbearable, simply the worst pain i've ever felt in my life. I've had tooth aches that I thought were painful, my god I was wrong, nothing in the world hurt more than this surgery. So after being discharged that night from the hospital, i was told to cut one inch of the gauze out per day. I was diagnosed with a Perirectal Abscess, which i assume differes from a perianal abscess? Does anyone really know the difference? Surgery was two days ago and besides the pain from the incision itself, everything seems okay. I haven't had a bowel movement, but then again I'm afraid to eat anything because I don't exactly know what will happen when I do have a bowel movement. After reading everyone's story I'm afraid I might get a fistula and need more surgery. I pray this not be the case, as I don't think i could deal with this pain again. I know it's early, but is it fairly normal for there to be such large amounts of pus to come out ever after surgery? Any suggestions on eating? I've starved myself for four days, and i'm so hungry it's not even funny, but I just don't want to deal with massive pain during a bowel movement...also any suggestions on cleaning the area? I still have the gauze inside the incision, and i don't want to aggrevate it. Lastly does anyone feel massive pain when they squeeze there buttchecks? I guess i never really noticed it until i wake up from the middle of the night from the sharp pain. It seems all my procedures were similar to many of the posts, but I don't have health insurance, and it seems the er was less willing to help with post op care as they told me to take care of the dressing myself, and call if the pain worsened. any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated as I can't just go see doctors left and right without insurance.
