South Carolina Shot Glass

with one comment

Here’s another shot glass that my parents got for Cheri and I on one of their many visits to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This shot glass features a wide assortment of items that epitomize South Carolinian culture–including, but not limited to, sailboats, seagulls, and lighthouses. The design on this glass was so widespread that I took two pictures of it to capture it all.

In the middle of the glass there is the South Carolina state flag. For the longest time I’ve seen people with bumper stickers with that palmetto and crescent moon design and never knew what it meant. I always thought it was something Muslim related, but I guess I was wrong. Its just the SC state flag.

  1. SC state flag has a palmetto tree and a crescent moon. The palmetto tree is there because an early SC fort was made with palmetto trees and they absorbed the cannon balls and we won the battle. The crescent moon is there because I’m not sure.
